Newbie Investor from NYC area

Hi All-

My name is Chris and I'm new to BP and REI. I first found the amazing BP podcasts and recently joined the site. I'm pretty excited about how much info I learn each day absorbing the forums, articles and podcasts.

I live in Staten Island and recently sold my Brooklyn 2 bedroom condo in Greenwood purchased in 2006. My ex was living in it prior to the market rebound and sale last month. That transaction was very exciting and profitable.

For years I've been studying the NYC and surrounding NY/NJ markets purely out of curiosity to learn more. By year end, I hope to complete my real estate agent licensing. I presently work full time as an IT consultant.

I am interested in starting my investment career in early 2014 once I settle on a REI strategy and repair my credit a bit. My next investment could be a small owner occupied multifamily property but I'm still exploring my options and educating myself.

I look forward to meeting and learning from the BP community.

@Mehran K.

I'm not normally an Introduce myself type of guy. The community here made it easy and it's a smart move to help get some networking going. I suffered a bit carrying my condo with such a terrible mortgage rate but the payoff and chance for a new beginning made it well worth it. I look forward to jumping in here at BP and seeing you around.

Thanks!
