New From Indianapolis Area!

Derek Wright
Posted

Hello BiggerPockets community,

My name is Derek and this is my first post on the forums. If you are familiar with the book Rich Dad Poor Dad then you probably are able to figure out how I found myself in this awesome community! I'm a recent graduate from college and I am a full time flight instructor building hours that would hopefully lead to an airline job. After listening to the Biggerpockets Podcasts, Real Estate Rookie podcasts, and reading more books in my spare time, I have found a niche that I want to learn more about; Multifamily Homes. I do not have much capital built up, but I know that I am willing to live in and rent out other spaces to help pay for my monthly bill and live "rent free". I am very busy and my future schedule would also mean that I would not be around very often to watch after a property.

My questions are, would this be a good place to start when thinking about getting into the rental realm of real estate investing? Also, Is this something that would be best researching more into or jumping head first into?

Thank you if you choose to respond, If anyone knows people from Indianapolis area that would like to connect I would love to be someone to bounce ideas off of! I have not seen many people from Indianapolis or even Indiana on the forums and would love to help grow that area.
