Current College Student at Virginia Tech

Hey guys!

New to the website so thought I would take the next step and introduce myself on here. My name is Phillip Bingham and I am currently a college student at Virginia Tech in my junior year in Engineering. I've come across the idea of real estate after going through a series of enlightening personal research steming from the law of attraction, 48 laws of power, Think and Grow Rich, and finally Rich Dad, Poor Dad. Ever since watching the one hour video on youtube that Robert Kiyosaki had I did more personal research on it and have become fascinated with the possibilities that real estate along with having a personal business has.

My reasons I would say for getting into real estate is of course financial security, but I am also wanting to partake in the endeavor for my family as well. I come from a military family so being able to help out my parents who've worked hard their whole life would be amazing to me.

My current plan for real estate that I've thought of based on what I've read on here would be to purchase a 3-plex and live in it using a FHA loan I believe building capital to purchase more investments and then start trading up. I'm not sure of the area yet since I was thinking wherever I get my first big job. What are y'all's thoughts on this though?
