Hello BiggerPockets peeps! I'm a newbie in Apex, NC. I've been interested in real estate since about 1995. Back then, I had no money, very little real world experience, and not enough confidence to do anything. The dream got put on hold until 2006, when I talked my husband into buying a one-acre piece of land in Apex, NC, with the idea of building our dream home and saving some money by serving as the general contractor. It took us a year; we did a lot of the work ourselves, and eventually finished the house with our 2 year-old marriage still intact. After that, I took a break from real estate to start my family.

Now, seven years later, after burning myself out working in the corporate world as an IT project manager, I've quit that job to start my real estate investing company. Things have changed a lot since 1995. I now have some capital to invest, a good amount of real world experience, and enough confidence that I've made the leap. Now I just need to find my first deal. :)

I'm looking to start as a flipper to generate income and to eventually invest in rental properties to start generating passive income. I'm going to attend my first TREIA meeting tomorrow and hope to make some contacts - wholesalers, lawyers, accountants, etc.

Thanks BiggerPockets for all the wonderful information and for creating this forum for meeting others!
