Hey everyone. My name is John Barber Jr. I'm from Detroit, MI. But am currently in Shreveport, Louisiana at the moment.

I've played professional basketball and have been seasoning myself to become a true Entrepreneur.

I am new to Real Estate Investing. The only experience I have thus far is knowledge from books, webinars, etc. I would like to begin my investing with multi family units (Duplexes, Triplexes, Quads). Any help will be much appreciated!

And I would love to be of assistance to others where I can as well!

Thanks!

    Welcome to BP John,

You picked the right place to start. Read, read and read some more. If you spend any time on the road, or just down time while waiting on a vehicle service or something, you can listen to the podcasts which are like short courses on different investment strategies. Brandon and Josh do a good job of making sure things are explained in detail and there's good discussion of the pros and cons of the guests strategies.

I live in Lafayette, but I'm currently working on the rehab of four duplexes in Alexandria. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help or if you want to check out my Alexandria project?

    Best of luck!

@Stephen Moore Yes, this is my first MF deal. I've done a dozen SF deals prior and I'm diversifying into MF.

A good point, Aaron. John, if you are still playing ball, you might want to wait to invest until you have settled on where you are going to live for the long run, then look around there, first. There are a lot of great opportunities in Michigan these days.

Welcome to BP John! I'm in Shreveport/Bossier City and am a SFH investor. I have been researching Multi's over the past couple of months but haven't purchased one yet. I have my eye on a 4-plex but haven't pulled the trigger.

If I can help you in any way while you are in Shreveport just let me know.

Take your time and get your feet wet one project at a time. Michigan is a great place to invest right now. Just know your market. Like Aaron said there is a lot of people in the detroit area that are on here so if you need anything just ask.
