Hello, My name is Robert Berkey and I am new to BP.

Wow!, what a great resource, I almost just plunked down 2k on a short sale guru course but changed my mind at the last second and now that I've found this site I'm glad I waited.

I'm 48 yrs old and the only property I've ever bought is the one I'm writing this from. I've recently received an inheritance and would like to use it to
build a portfolio that provides me time to do the things that are important to me. Since I live in Gresham, I am looking for SF homes in the 90K to 120K range that need between 10K and 30K of rehab on the east side of town, SE or NE Portland, Gresham, Troutdale.

I have been to a handful of REI meetings and am educating myself as quickly as I can but what would be ideal is a Mentor/Partner for the first deal or two so I don't lose my shirt. The more I learn about REI, the more it seems to parallel Texas Hold'em, you wait and wait for the right cards to play and even when you get them there's no guarantee of winning the pot.

Glad to be here,

Robert
