Not going to renew lease - any notice required?

Hello! I have a SFR in Sacramento that I'm planning to sell after the lease expires. Is there any specific requirement to give the tenants notice that I won't be renewing the lease? (It's NOT in a rent controlled area.)

I'm planning on giving them a 60-day notice since the rental market is so tight here. Good idea / bad idea?

I’d give them notice asap. You miss a deadline and then you have to let them stay longer. It’s just common courtesy to let them know you’ve already decided not to renew them. I usually let tennants know 3 months in advance if I’m not renewing or, if I am, what the terms are. If they want to renew they already know. If you’re not renewing you give them time to find someplace else snd not get stuck with the best they can find in 30 days.
