Considering STR in Vacaville, CA, while out-of-state

Hi folks, 

I am new in the Biggerpockets community and would love to connect with some STR owners in the Vacaville area. We are out of state, and have never managed a STR before. I have been doing my own online research, and have discovered the enemy method mentioned on other posts, but first hand experience is invaluable. I appreciate any insights y'all are willing to share!

• Do you self-manage or use a property manager?
• Are you out of state?
• How many bed/baths is your propterty?
• What is your occupany pertenage like?
• Do you use Airbnb, VRBO or other website?
• Does it seem like most of your guest are vacationers, or buisness?
• How have the fires in California affected your business?
• What has been your biggest challenge in running the STR?

Hey Alisa,

I don't own any STR's, but I am a long time resident of Vacaville CA. If there is any information I can help with about the area just let me know. I am personally trying to rent out of state but I the opposite direction. As for the fires I don't know how they are impacting short term rentals. We have a few days where it's smokey and then the delta breeze will come in and push it east into the valley. Have a good day.
