YOUR PORTER ACQUIRED BY GUESTY-THOUGHTS?

Today, Guesty has announced its acquisition of Your Porter(see link below for announcement). As always, they say that nothing will change. I am literally just starting out in the STR game. We close on a Smoky Mountain cabin today and I've been setting up Your Porter during escrow. I wanted to ask the STR veterans their thoughts on this acquisition? I don't know much about Guesty.

Many of these STR software companies are still early stage businesses that have been in customer acquisition mode. Businesses exist to make money for their owners. Many owners would prefer to sell for the big payout and to avoid the ongoing responsibility. Those who stay in business need to expand monetization over time to increase profits. Those who fail to properly monetize end up out of business. Expect this industry to continue consolidation over time.
