Ring stick-up Camera or Ring Doorbell camera?

Does my STR need a Ring Doorbell camera?  or can I get away with the Ring Stick-up cameras?

A regular camera will monitor more of an area, but it is nice to have the doorbell version so if the house is empty and someone rings the doorbell, you are notified and can talk to them through it.  The doorbell also gets a good view of their faces since it is mounted low, and can see under hats.

you dont HAVE to have a doorbell camera as long as you have converage on your entrance

Ring doorbells are a life savior if a guest or service person has any trouble getting into the property. Especially if you're like us and have STR in locations with no cell service!

You don't NEED any camera at all.  If you decide on installing cameras then just like at your home it is a matter of brand preference and styles, etc.  If you decide on cameras I recommend a doorbell and 2 side exterior.  I do not recommend backyard especially if you have a pool or hot tub and certainly nothing interior!

There are a TON of options for cameras out there to cover the door.

I have the ring camera with solar panels and a ring hardwired floodlight camera.

I have ring cameras at 3 different properties in 2 different states.

Hey @Marc Shin. So some have one or the other.

I like solar powered cameras instead of Ring's of any kind.

I have the Eufy exterior camera with separate solar panel. Works just fine for me and the solar panel can be directed independent of the camera which is nice. A lot of cameras have the solar panel built in so optimum camera angle can also mean less than optimal solar panel alignment.
