Beach House Issues from your experience

Hello,

We are looking at a 3 BR, 2BA home on Emerald Island NC tomorrow with the intent to use it as a vacation rental. I am curious from those who have beach properties what advice you have regarding what to focus on when looking at the home. I assume roof, HVAC and septic are potential major expenses,  if they fail. Is there something else I should be concerned about, from your experience. thanks and wish us luck!

    Aloha,

Consider the environmental exposure of a particular property. Strong winds combined with sea salt are EXTREMELY hard on wooden structures, concrete, and exposed metal. Ongoing and frequent preventative maintenance is critical.
