Thinking about an ADU, Airbnb rental in College Park GA (6 minutes driving from ATL)

Hello –

I currently own a single family home in College Park GA with a lot of backyard space. It is very close to the ATL airport (about 6 minute drive) and think there could be an opportunity to rent to folks on a short term basis that need a place to stay before / after the airport. Wondering if anyone has had success doing an ADU Airbnb in the College Park area or any success with Airbnb generally in the College Park area? Curious how you were able to rationalize the investment and Airbnb strategy in that location. Any help very appreciated!

Best,

Arman

@Arman Ali, as with any other investment, you need to perform due diligence and run the numbers thoroughly. Building an ADU with current economic implications and labor shortage isn't cheap. As noted above, to analyze nearby short-term rentals, hop on Airbnb and VRBO to asses your competition and gauge nightly rates. Location-wise, you're in a high-demand area, but the construction costs alone might kill the deal depending on how long you plan to source the ADU. I'll always come down to verifying the numbers. The above video is super helpful in understanding the overarching scope of ADUs.
