Pool Heater Optimization
Hi All!
Does anyone have any experience with optimizing a pool heater?
Typically in Florida, it stays warm enough the pool heater has been able to do its thing. But since this week has dropped to the low 40’s at night, the pool has been cool during the day.
I’ve been poking around on pool forums but the only thing I’ve seen is to add a cover. But I picture a cover would be a pain for guests.
Any tips are greatly appreciated!

You could get a solar cover on a reel. We have one for personal use. It’s not a huge pain in the butt.
Doing some searching, my pool is a bean shape. It looks like two small round covers that usually cover above ground pools will fit perfect. I’m going to give those a try and see how well they do.
It sounds like solar covers can add 10°F. Hopefully enough to get it comfortable. Right now the pool temp is 70°F. 80°F would be plenty warm
