Where to find county/city regulations for STR

Hi fellow BP members. Does anyone in the Bay Area know a quick way to find county/city STR regulations? I feel like I've wasted time going to county websites and going on google deep dives and I still can't find a clear answer as to what the regulations are, if any. Thank you!

What area in particular are you looking for? Generally you definitely can find all that info on google when you type the city followed by STR ordinances/laws/regulations whichever wording you decide to choose. Since it seems you've done that part, than maybe you can try calling the city you want to do an STR business in.

Great question.  Are you doing an Air Bnb?  My immediate thought on this is that these bureaucratic departments don't actually have the capacity to regulate these issues as well as they make you want to think they do.  Would love to drill down on what is actually required by them in order to move forward with a STR.  Does Air Bnb just require some form?  Is there a self-filled-in form you need to keep updated?  Do they just require a tax quarterly?

IMO, its a good thing that this exists.  It means that SF wants to make money off the STR market. Great! Just stay compliant and become friends with the bored-out-of-their-mind case worker that will inevitably be assigned to you... like literally, send them a gift to the office... and you will be ALLLL GOOODDD.

The best way is to call the code enforcement office for the town/city that you're looking to have a STR.

It depends on the are.  San Mateo county is different than San Francisco...and so on.    Every county and every city/town is different.
