Can anyone recommend a good Real Estate seminar?

Hello Friends,

I would like to attend a real estate seminar in New York or New Jersey but was wondering if anyone here can recommend a good one or at least a place to find them. Most of the ones I seem to be running into are free and seem to be reasons to sell a "get-rich-quick" system.

I got two ideas for you. First of all go to all the REIAs you can. Network and find an investor that you can offer your services to in exchange for being part of a deal how ever that may work out.

I've got 2 different stories of seminars. One I've spend 8k on and had classes, mentors, and further subscriptions to property information websites and marketing. All in all, they've been fine. I learned a lot but I still wasn't prepared to go on my own.

The other seminar I've put in about 3k only because I haven't been paid yet. I started my own REIA and got a rehabber I've teamed up with. We're doing a stupidly extensive rehab and I'm learning a ton. I've tagged along as he's gone to talk to sellers and we're currently talking about partnering on future deals. In fact, he's offering to hire me on salary which is pretty exciting considering we've been on projects together for 2 months.

I'm sure others will say "You need to get paid now." We're on a trusting relationship and yes I should have it legally agreed upon, but regardless I can see how much I've grown. I've gained confidence and knowledge about how to deal with sellers, contractors, and projects in general. It feels like its been more worth it.

My advice, go and team up with someone local!
