Most Important Landlord Tip
Most Important Landlord Tip
THE WAY YOU TREAT PEOPLE WILL AFFECT YOUR SUCCESS.
The old saying applies: You Reap What You Sow. Of all the tips there are for landlords, the way you treat people is probably the most important one that will have the greatest influence on your success. This includes prospective tenants as well as tenants.
-- If you begin the relationship in an adversarial manner, you should expect the tenant to remember your attitude and respond accordingly.
-- If payments are consistently late, the way you began the relationship may be the root of the problem.
-- Are your properties experiencing what some may consider excessive wear and tear? A quick look in the mirror may reveal the source of the problem.
-- If you are perceived as a greedy landlord whose priority is taking money and not making repairs or addressing issues, you should expect a challenging career as a landlord.
This is just my way of viewing the landlord/tenant relationship. In fact, this is the way I approach all relationships. It is not the only way, nor is it the correct way for you.
