Frances Erving
Posted

I have been a homeowner since 1993 in City of Hallandale.  We have had flooding  in our homes from hurricanes Katrina, Irma etc. My insurance company has  paid claims for thousands of Dollars $$$. No, Compensation was given from the inconvenience too our family.

Now, City of Hallandale installed a new sewer pump system, our water bills has increased from $160.- 501 per month . We are Seniors citizens We are on a fixed income can't afford these escalated bills.

You have to have at least one leak. There is zero chance the “average” water bill can be $500/mo. In the desert of Las Vegas with a pool our Bill is less than $35/mo.

As far as the insurance. I doubt you bought an inconvenience policy. Think of how much they’ve lost covering you. Be glad you had the foresight to get flood insurance or all those expenses would have come out of your pocket. And they haven’t increased those policies 5-10x like they have in other markets. Or simply declined to issue any policies.
