New Lease terms for eviction moratorium.

Posted

I'm working on drafting a lease for my new tenant.

Just an idea, I'm wondering is it possible or legal to add a line or addendum stating that the tenant agree and will waive the right to exercise the eviction moratorium?

if not, what is the best way to prevent that?

@Ron Rohrssen, I'm not an attorney but, also in Iowa and have consulted with two attorneys, both have said tenants on a month to month lease, the landlord can give a non-renewal notice and require the tenant to be out in 30 days, if they don't leave the "big E" process can start.

Ultimatly, consult with the attorney that is going to file the eviction for you, and preferably one who has done this before!  Happy to give attorney referrals to anyone in Central Iowa.
