Docs from new lessee
Is it customary for a property mgr to request a new tenant provide soc sec cards, birth certificates for all tenants on the lease along with recent tax returns & paystubs?
Given issues around identity theft, the request seems excessive and intrusive.

We already have the SSN on the application. Providing a copy of the card doesn't create any more risk of identity theft. I can't think of a reason a birth certificate would ever be needed, but I would ask the PM for the reason the request was made.
Thank you.
