insuring the water service line

A co. named American Water Resources sent me a sales letter about buying insurance against water line failure of the line delivering water to my house. Has anyone purchased this or heard of it? I usually service my waste line every other year. Is that what they are talking bout or do they mean the fresh water supply?

Steve, Several Insurance companies are making "Line Coverage" available as an endorsement to Homeowners and Dwelling/Fire or Landlord policies. You should see if your carrier offers it. If so, compare the cost and coverage.
