New owners raised our rent
my husband and I have rented this house for the last 15 years in Washington state. It has just been sold to a new owner. We were on a month to month contract with previous owners. The new owner sent us a text two weeks before rent is due, saying they are doubling our rent. Can they do this on such short notice?

Your best bet us to check your state and local laws regarding this. There isn't a national guideline on this, it varies according to where you are.
