Corona virus and rents

Hi I live in Illinois and the governor has shut down public schools, bars and restaurants state wide for the next two weeks. There’s uncertainty if that shut down will be extended if the virus spreads. I have tenants that work in those industries. I’m being asked now if rent is going to be prorated due to their paychecks being smaller until this clears up. How should I respond? Thank you!

@David Worker This is a tough time for everyone. Including you. Because you are the one who chooses to take on extra responsibility and own a home instead of rent, does not mean that you should shoulder these problems as well. Show extra care as a landlord in some small and definitive way, set expectations, and collect the rent that they owe you. Best of luck!
