Ulster County rental registration

Hello,

I am fairly new to real estate investing, with two properties in the Hudson Valley region. For my first property I am using a property manager. I recently closed on a second that I was hoping to self-manage. However, the local rental registration requires that any owner who is out of county name a local managing agent. Has anyone dealt with similar issues?  Are there any work-arounds, or do I need to resign to hiring a local property manager?

We can only ask for first month rent and one month security deposit now.  If you haven’t read the new rental laws in NY, best to go over them as it’s a brave new world in NY rentals.

As an aside, I had a couple ask me if I knew of any rentals.  I’m happy to pass you their information if interested.  No fee, etc just good neighbor stuff 😊
