Landlord does no repairs

My issue is with my landlord not making repairs on anything. This landlord took over the property in January. The furnace was not working and the roof was leaking. We informed him of this and he said No Prob. just send him an email with all the repairs needed and he would take care of it. We had no furnace the whole winter. He didnt even make and attempt to repair it. Then came the heavy rains in sprring all three bedrooms were leaking so bad part of the ceiling in all rooms came down. He came into the house to see it and said wow that is really bad, as soon as rains cease I will send my guy over. We have never seen the guy who makes repairs for him. He only shows up on the day the rent is due and says the guy will be here tomorrow for your roof, you dont have to be home. but of course we stay to see if this mystery guy shows up. He never does of course and we callthe landlord and of course we can only leave messages. Where do we go from here? We have documented everything.

Do you have a lease? From this information it is very likely that he is trying to get you to move. You are paying bellow market rent. If he gets you out of there, then he can probably rehab it and make quite a bit more than you are providing. I'm very sorry that you ended up in this situation.
