Security deposit refund
I have a prospective tenant who put down partial security deposit one month ago and never moved in on moving date then the tenant called me and stated they would move in on the 1st of November so I've been patient with them now they say they want their partial payment back I have been holding this unit for them for a month are they entitled there partial security deposit back |

you my friend just received a lesson from the school of hard knocks. your tuition fee is that $400 that you will most likely have to give back, because you did not have the tenant sign a holding agreement. Next time, the tenant should sign an agreement that states that the holding fee is non-refundable if they dont move in.
You can tell the tenant to kick rocks, cause you are out real costs because of him, but if he goes to court I think you will lose. If you are in a state that awards treble damages to tenants, just give him the money back and do better next time.
