Hi please some advice, I rent a one bedroom in Sunny South Florida , from around 8am all the way till 7-8pm depending how hot the day was the thermostat won’t budge under 82 degree F ... One plus is my electric is included in the price of rent ... but it’s unbearable to stay at home .... constantly sweating inside the house.. only an area where the vent is obviously can you find a coolness breeze other than that it’s feels like an oven... what can I do ? Should do ?

I hate to be the one to throw it out there but it sounds like the landlord set this setting up to not allow it.  I have an ecobee smart thermostat I use in my rentals and I have the ability to change the settings which includes setting the range allowed.  I set mine to cool to 70 max, which means if a guest goes to the display and pushes the down arrow all the way (which they always do) it stops at 70 even though the system itself can go lower.

My guess is he has a similar setting setup on his..
