REMOTE INVESTORS: Smart Lock System For Remote Management???!
I went to preview a listing the other day, and came across a system that set my mind ablaze with opportunities for the application of this system for investors that want to do their own lease up remotely!
Here's how it works:
Secure accountsBefore we grant access to any home, users create an account with a verified phone number and email address.
Unique entry codesEvery home has a keypad lock, and each visitor gets a unique code for every visit.
Home monitoring systemOur advanced security technology monitors each home, ensures the home is locked between visits, and helps us rapidly respond to any out-of-the-ordinary situation.
So, my question is, does anyone know how to set something like this up?????? Specifically, what if there is only electricity on at the house (NO WIFI)? I know systems like Simplisafe can work without wifi as they connect through a cellular network, so is there a locking system that works similarly for integration???
CALLING ALL REMOTE INVESTORS.......LET'S FIGURE THIS OUT and IMPLEMENT!!

@Cara Lonsdale I am currently using a lock box system called Rently. Which allows perspective tenants to gain access for self showing. It requires a credit card charge of $0.99 and photo identification verification through the service. They generate a one time use code that is good for one hour. It tracks when they take the key and when they return the key. Their credit card is on file for damages which seems to give some protection to the landlord.
I can also invite service personnel to get access. I just enter their phone number and I can grant access as one time, or ongoing access. They get unique codes each time they enter, so I can revoke access at any time. I can see when they came and went on the lock box.
I can control hours of access to the property, so I make them available 8 AM to 8 PM. It can be changed remotely at any time. It costs $30 per lock box per month. No internet is required, so I assume it connects via cellular.
Using the lock box, there is no way to know if the door was locked, but everyone so far has locked it. Any self showings go into your lead funnel with their post showing survey.
I have only used the service less than one month, so I have not make my final determination. For sure if you were out of town, it is a great solution.
