Process for moving out renter

Yulia Kaygorodtseva

Hello, my renter is moving out in a week. What is the process I need to follow? Meet him at the property at the last day and do a walk through using the property Condition form? take his house key and the  garage door opener.

I have 1 week to mail him a check with his deposit.

Am I missing anything? thank you!

@Yulia Kaygorodtseva What is the law for Texas regarding the return of security? Do you have longer in case you need to deduct items?

I always like to have a week to at least look over and make sure that I haven't missed anything. In Florida, we have two weeks to return the deposit IF we are giving back all of it. If we are making deductions, we have up to 30 days. Always good to be able to look at the Before pictures to see if there is any question in your mind about the condition of anything.

In addition, get their forwarding address.
