Could I be blacklisted from air bnb?

Question

So I bought a full gut rehab, 4BR with the plan to move into.

As an experiment, I put up pictures of what I'm designing the house to look like, with the dates open for when I thought it would be done (stupid I know)

I was getting hits left and right, offers for A LOT of money.

The work is now dragging and I don't know if I'm going to hit my deadline

If I start cancelling the first few reservations, can they blacklist me and cancel ALL the reservations I have booked (almost every weekend)?

If I send pictures of the renovations will they be understanding?

I think it's a good business model that I got a little too aggressive with my timeline and don't want to lose all the bookings I have

Pay extra to finish on deadline. I've heard a lot of situations recently, where long-time hosts are being punished, even when guests lie about stuff, and get thrown off the platform. So, I'd be very careful about involving them, if you have to.

Because cancellations disrupt guests' plans and impact confidence in the Airbnb community, the following penalties will be applied for host cancellations.

Cancellation Fees. A fee will be deducted from your first payout following the cancellation. The amount deducted will depend on when you accepted the reservation and how soon before check-in you cancelled the reservation:

• If you cancel a reservation accepted before January 1, 2016: More than 7 days before check-in, we’ll deduct $50 from your next payout.Less than 7 days before check-in, we’ll deduct $100 from your next payout.

Loss of eligibility for Superhost status. You won't be eligible to earn Superhost status for one year after your most recent cancellation.

Account Suspension. If you cancel 3 or more reservations within a year, we may deactivate your listing.

Unless there are extenuating circumstances, there will be no exceptions to our updated cancellation policy.

I hear you.  The new listing boost helped me book it solid until about August though so i'm good through then!   Hopefully the reviews when it's ready will outweigh the cancellations.

Side note - don't people use the "map view" instead of the "listing view"?  I know when I'm looking at places, I like to use the map view to see where it is and how much.....

What does "remove my listing mean"?

Delete it and cancel all my pending reservations?

Or make it so I can't book any new ones?

You will be hit on the reviews/superhost/listing prominence side. They also might charge hosts a fee for too many cancellations I can't remember.Yes eventually they will remove your listing if you cancel too much.

@Jim Smith I cancelled about 15 in a row. I was booked up until September. The farther out the booking then the more lenient they are with the penalty. You may be able to show them paperwork telling them your property won't be available but they may pin that on you. They can temporarily suspend your listing which they threatened me with. Remember whatever you say they will be looking for evidence. One thing about Airbnb they cater to the guests and leave the hosts hanging at times but I love their platform and I think it is the best one out there.
