Certified. Guarantees good documentation if you have issues. Spend $5 to protect yourself. Returns of security deposits and notices of offsets against them vary by state. In Florida, if you do not make a claim against a security deposit you have 15 days to return it. If you are making a claim for damages, you have 30 days to notify the other party of your intention and they have 15 days after receipt to dispute it.
