Tenant Bed Bug complaints but nothing found on inspection

State of Illinois...

My tenant recently sent an email complaining of bed bugs.  In the letter she referenced that I had not responded to  earlier complaints  but this didn't happen...so it appears she's starting off lying.   I asked her if she saved the "sent" email but she apparently claimed to have "deleted" it.  (She never sent it to me)

I came and checked out the unit and found no bed bugs or any evidence of an investation.  Additional complaints followed.  I called a pest control company and scheduled an inspection.  They came out and inspected and said they saw absolutely no evidence of bed bugs, droppings or shredded exoskeletons.  I advised the tenant that there was no evidence of bed bugs and later that night tenant emailed pics of bugs and bites on the skin.

At this point, should I be contacting an attorney?  That fact that she started out deceptively leads me to believe she's planning something devious.  However, if there are in fact bed bugs should it be my responsibility?   Does anyone have experience with bed bugs and tenants?  Thanks guys.
