Check your gutters.

Just a reminder for everyone. Recently my husband was working on one of our flips and had to cut back the rafter tails and replace two feet of the roof sheathing not to mention the roof itself due to rot. He said this could have been avoided if the gutters had been cleaned out on a regular basis. Cleaning your gutters is something that should be done at least once a year, usually after the last leaf has fallen off of the trees. If you don't want to get your ladder out and get your hands dirty you can hire a licensed contractor to do it and in my neck of the woods it cost less than $200 for a single story home. It would have been a lot cheaper in the long run to clean the gutters out in the first place.

Thanks for reading,

MK
