Cover up surround sound wiring?

Question

So the house I recently purchased and I'm fixing up right now is wired for surround sound. My plan was to leave the wiring in (in case I decide to sell it someday) and just cover the boxes up with plastic covers so you can't see what's inside. I'm just picturing a tenant using the wiring and blowing their speakers and then blaming me.

Would you guys do the same thing or am I over-thinking this one?

Thanks guys. I'll just leave it in and put a note on the lease about it. The place also has a half-court basketball court that should also be a nice feature when it comes to renting the place out. And yes, it's a SFR.

Andy Luck - 50k purchase price, buy and hold long term, will put about 5k-7k into it, 3BR, 2BA, 1 car garage, fenced in back yard, in good school district.

The last time hubs and I were tenants, the built in surround sound was a huge bonus for us and set the place apart from the many others we looked at that had the similar standard of finish but lower rent.  I'm surprised there wasn't a clause in the lease like @Andy Luck suggested.

Tell us about the deal....price points.....rehab costs and what you're doing....your market is one that gets a lot of play on various sites online touting high yield deals but I've never done anything there.  Are you planning to hold it long term or is it going to be a rent and flip?

If it is a multi then definitely cover it up. I see noise complaints in the future.

Why not let them use the wiring....it would probably be an added bonus for someone renting the house is the media room or whole house were wired for sound.  I'd leave it available to them and if you are concerned but a clause in their lease that you are not responsible for damages to their equipment from said use.  Happy Investing!

While "no alterations" to the house is probably already in your lease, you may want to specifically address this in it as well. Some tenants are...creative.
