Recommendations to replace carpet to vinyl plank

My rental unit needs a carpet replacement and I was thinking of changing to vinyl plank. I went to Home Depot and got some ideas of cost plus labor which seems cheaper than an unlicensed floor guy that was recommended to me. Any experience with Home Depot you would like to share? Thanks in advance for your input.
