I had a paint job done on a property by a professional vendor I used before with an excellent reputation. I was not onsite when they painted and it isn't right. What would you do? .  This is a historic building where two sides require a lift and other sides it is just a ladder. I had the company paint the lift sides and trim a few years ago.

Had them come back to do window trim due to replacing windows and another area this year as it was peeling.  I went over colors with the crew chief. Match the color on the building, no problem.  Come back to find they prepped doors which was not in the scope of work because but ok they said they would paint them no charge. However I was clear the front door had been painted with oil based paint (It was a double door and was pulled and fully rehabed a year ago but they had done a light sand. I gave them a can of oil based paint.

Here were the errors:

1. I come back to find the oil paint has been used and a can of latex in the same color has also been used. I don't know where because they have now painted 3 doors including a basement door that was brown latex red and another door they weren't supposed to touch. Did they put the latex over oil, did they mix the paints?

2.  The main dormers painted in yellow was supposed to be matching paint to the dormer above, not even close.

3.  The color scheme should match the dormer above with yellow and light brown trim.  It is the wrong yellow and dark brown trim.

What would you do ?  The painting quality is good but I have a latex/oil issue and a color issue.
