Dishwasher Repair and Maintenance

Hey all! The dishwasher in our rental has issues starting. It requires you to flip the circuit breaker on and off, but recently it’s required you to flip the circuit breaker a lot of times to turn on.

What approach do you usually take when your rental has dishwasher issues? Do you get a service rep from the company or hire someone else? I feel like the service reps take a bit to get out and cost a lot more.

Also any ideas on how to fix that issue would be appreciated!

Aloha,

It sounds like you/your Tenant have been playing this game for a while. Clearly there is a likely electrical problem, and after the first breaker reset that did not solve the issue, it should have been turned off and left off. There is serious potential to start a fire if there is a malfunction of the breaker or actual wiring issues. A licensed electrician should check the breaker panel and circuit immediately. Since the DW does apparently operate, it is not likely to be a problem with that, but the breaker issue needs to be resolved first, regardless.
