Where to keep a Down Payment for a rental

Good morning all. Do y’all recommend I store my down payment for a rental in a bank or in a brokerage account where I can take a loan against my assets?

I keep $ that I use for a down payment in my bank account typically. This is most convenient for me, however I have not done any research in storing a down payment in a brokerage account.
