Property Manager Considerations

Tom Grieshammer
Posted

First time home buyer. I’m looking for a short term rental property in either Lakewood or Cleveland Heights. Anything I should look out for when hiring a property manager?

I would ask the following:

- How many units do they manage?

- How many staff do you employ?

- What is your commission rate?

- What software's do you employ?

- What is your revenue strategy?

- - What is your marketing strategy?

All in all, in my opinion you are best served with a local company that is "mid sized" I.E. 30-90 units or so.  Small enough where you are not just a number but large enough that one or two people are doing everything.
