Howdy all,

I am having a few issues with a project via contractors liens. So my old GC hired a plumber to do some work in August 2018, he never paid him for his work, so months later the plumber is trying to have me pay him, but I am not sure what the law will require, its way past 90 days so how ling does he have to file a lien and what are my options. I don't want to pay this man $2,400 for a job I would have paid $1,900 for.

If you had an agreement with a GC and you paid for the work, then your contractual obligations are discharged. The plumber's claim should be against the GC. I am not a Texas attorney, but I'm not sure what grounds the plumber has to attach a lien on you.
