1099 MISC - What is included in Rent

Eric H.

Posted

I just bought my first rental in 2018 and was just issued my first 1099 MISC.  The number in the rent box that was issued by my property management company is more than double what I have in my records as received rental income.

Is literal rent payments the only number that should go in there or does the property management company include anything else in there that I could be missing?

Thanks,
