Hi,

I'm new to real estate and i would like to start on the right foot. So i was wondering if setting up a series LLC is recommended. I live in Ohio and i'm planing to invest in Ohio and out of state. What's your suggestions ?

Is a Series LLC going to provide asset protection in Ohio if i get dragged to court ?

I'm planing to do Flips, Rent to Own, and Buy and hold strategies.

I really appreciate your feedback !

Thank you

Series LLC is a great concept that will probably get extended nationwide in the near future. However, as it is a relatively recent newcomer, there is not a lot of case law on it yet and your guess is as good as mine if it will provide the same asset protection than multiple regular LLC. Theory would say yes, but in practice I would prefer not to be that test case...
