Wholesale assignment fees up front or at closing?
I've looked through many of the assignment contracts listed in the forms area, all of them that I found state something about a deposit and the balance paid at closing. I just attended a seminar by Vena Jones Cox about wholesaling and she recommended getting your entire assignment fee when you assign the contract and not attend the closing. Have any of you done this? are there any issues here?

There's no need to attend the closing regardless if you've been paid in full. You've sold your position in the contract and now have nothing to do with the original contract with the seller. The title company will cut you a check or wire your funds once the transaction is complete.
