Buying Property in SC

Hi All - We are working to buy a duplex in SC. We live in NC.  The make up of this purchase will be

Retirement Trust - ( My solo 401k)

My brother in law

And a 3rd person

We are wondering if it is better to form an LLC, or just have the OTP show the three entities/people.

If we form an LLC, do we do it in NC or SC? Ideally we would do it in NC, but can a NC LLC purchase property in SC? If we do it in SC, we need a registered agent in SC, and we currently don't have one. I know you can pay for them, but.... just more expenses.

We really need a contact for an attorney that does real estate business in NC and SC.  Since I don't completely even know what to ask here.....

Anyone have any contacts?
