I am looking to make a change with my current CPA/Tax Preparer. Ideally looking for a CPA that can discuss tax strategies while preparing tax returns for a small business (CA S-Corp) consulting AND out-of-state (UT) investment properties. Do you use someone different to prepare your tax returns then you do to discuss tax strategies?
Unfortunately while many tax pros are excellent at filing, are not the best at actual strategies. Its definitely ok to use a strategist for planning and another pro for filing (provided the strategies are very clear and can be handed-off). Hope this helps Katie
