Vacation/Second home loan

Hi everyone,

I just closed on my primary residence (duplex house hack) on 4/12. I want to buy a cabin in the Smokies as a second home and to STR part time. Is there a general consensus on how long one should wait after closing to apply for another loan? Wasn't sure if it was best to wait 30 days or so for credit score to optimize. It's still above 740 regardless. Thanks for the info!

Evan,

There is really no need to wait the score may drop after the first payment due to new credit and DTI. So it might make sense to start the process now.
