Owner occupant advice needed

Raefield P.
Posted

Hi,

I just purchased my first multi family (3 units) less than a week ago. I will be a owner Occupant. One unit is empty where the previous owner was living (first floor).  However, I want to move in to the 2nd floor unit (which is currently occupied with a lease) and rent the first.

Anyone able to tell me what my options are? I know once in I have moved in I most abide by the leases I inherit. Although, is it possible to just pick a different move in unit at the outset giving notice to the Current Tenant?

Thanks,
