Quitclaim deed and refinancing

Sarah Porretta
Posted

A year ago I had a quitclaim deed to add my boyfriend to the deed of my house. We split all the costs but because my credit is better, I am the only one on the mortgage. Rates are really good right now and I want to refinance the house. Will the quitclaim deed be a problem in this process or is this not an issue? Do I need to tell my lender about this or is this not something to worry about? I want to make sure he remains on the deed.
