Refinance from VA loan to conventional loan

Ryan Merrifield
Posted

We own a town home and we used the VA loan. We keep getting things in the mail to refinance our loan to get a better interest rate. Which is cool but, I go on deployment soon and we are wanting to refinance out of the VA and to a conventional loan. That way when I get back we can use our VA loan on a single family house and we plant to rent out the one we currently live in. So would it be wise to refinance now to get a better interest rate or wait till I get back to refinance into a conventional loan so we can move into a single family house? Or can I refinance now for a better interest rate and refinance later to get out of VA loan and, is this a wise decision?
