Missed Loan Estimate Error/Lesson Learned

Hey All,

I think I am just posting this to vent, but any and all feedback is appreciated. So I am within a few days of closing on a house. Two months ago when I was shopping for loans I received fee lists from the lenders I shopped. A month later I found a house and got the contract, signed the Loan Estimate but didn't do a good job comparing it to the fee list that specific lender gave me. The Loan Estimate omitted a $700 lender credit, but I missed that. I have now noticed it a few days from closing and sent an email to have it fixed, but something tells me I was lured with that lender credit.

To you veterans out there, I'd appreciate any advice.

To everyone else, the lesson I learned is that you should meticulously compare any fee list to your Loan Estimate (ideally before signing it) and, of course, your Loan Estimate to your Closing Disclosure on all your loans!
