My new job offer
Hello all,
I am currently a mechanical engineer working for a consulting company. My job is ok, but I'm not in love with it.
I have been in real estate renting for about 5 years, and love it. I have a good friend and mentor that has several rentals and has given me a job offer to manage his rental along with several others he has began to manage.
He has offered to match what I currently make along with benefits and the such-no brainer then, right?
Well my biggest worry about changing jobs from an engineer to a property manager. What if something occurs in the next handful of years-how easy is it to find a new job in the property management world as compared to the engineering world?
Maybe I'm over analyzing this (I am an engineer...) and should take the chance on something I will truly enjoy. Plus, this will allow to pursue other options such as flipping or buying more rentals.
I just was curious to see what others think, and to think out loud I guess...
